Writing Prompt Pit Stop: PoMoSco Challenge #2 Shake it Up!

Welcome to Writing Prompt Pit Stop! It’s day 2 of National Poetry Month. If you’re following along with my poetry journey, you can read my “Shake it Up” poem, “Dedicated to Thought,” over on the PoMoSco website here.

Here is the day 2 PoMoSco prompt, Shake it Up:

To earn the “Shake It Up” badge, follow the mandate of Tristan Tzara in “How to Make a Dadaist Poem” (http://www.writing.upenn.edu/~afilreis/88v/tzara.html) to create a cut-up poem. Start by  cutting out desired words or phrases from a source text, and put them in a paper bag or other container.

Shake the container to mix up the words, then pull them out one by one. To create your poem, place the words on the table in the order you draw them from the container.

Post your poem — or a picture of your cut-up if possible — on the site, along with a source text citation.
